Player Registration and Withdrawal Refund Policy
COCHRANE MINOR BASKETBALL PLAYER REGISTRATION AND WITHDRAWAL REFUND POLICY

Cochrane Minor Basketball Association (CoMBA) encourages both girls and boys to participate in the programs offered by CoMBA. Registration to a program is on a "first come, first serve" philosophy. Online registration is made available for you convenience, and we strongly recommend this method of registration to ensure your place in 'line' and provide receipt of payment immediately. Registrations must be received on or before June 30 in order to receive an 'early registration discount' or if mailed, postmarked on or before June 30. Those players who register after June 30 must pay the full program prices for that year.
A service charge of $100 will be levied for non-sufficient funds (NSF) or returned cheques.
As a rule of thumb, the CoMBA feels that teams of 9 to 12 players are an optimal number of players which encourages access to the sport and participation; while ensuring adequate development of our players through manageable practice numbers and ensuring meaningful game-play experience. Teams of up to 14 may be allowed, but will be determined in consultation with our coaches, the CoMBA Board and the CoMBA Administrator.
If the appropriate age group is full the player will be placed on a wait list. Players on the wait list will be contacted by CoMBA should a spot become available. Should no spots become available a full refund will be issued.
Players who wish to withdraw must contact the CoMBA administrative coordinator directly in by email prior to September 1st of that year. Players who withdraw prior to September 1st of that year will receive a full refund minus a $50 administration fee. After September 1st no refunds will be issued. *
Note that U18/High School are subject to the same terms as described above for the fall session. For the winter session, a notice for withdraw must be received in writing by December 7th of that year before a full refund minus a $50 administration fee is issued.
Other withdrawals with special circumstances (e.g. medical issues) will be dealt with on an individual basis.
Out-of-area registrations will be accepted as per Calgary Minor Basketball Association policy with the player participating in the evaluation purposes to determine team placement. If it is determined teams are full, the CoMBA cannot guarantee a placement on a team for an out-of-area registrant. Team placement, if allowed, will be determined by consulting coach(s), the CoMBA Board and the CoMBA Administrator for final determination.
* "This date may seem "too early /I to some people but CoMBA has selected this deadline for 2 main reasons: 1) Team registration and league fees for each team are due to Calgary Minor Basketball Association shortly thereafter, and 2) CoMBA must pay 100% of the expenses related to the pre-booking of gym space at Spray Lakes Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLSFSC) for the whole year by mid-September. Consequently, CoMBA requires a firm commitment from members before such time that these fees/expenses are due in order that CoMBA can determine how many teams it will register and how much gym time it requires.
