Coverage of Coaches' Clinics and Certification

Cochrane Minor Basketball Association (CoMBA) encourages its coaches to continually strive to improve their coaching capabilities. In support of this statement, CoMBA, in addition to the Calgary Minor Basketball Association coach development allowance, will provide up to $150.00 per annum towards covering the cost of a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) or Community Coaching Certification Program clinics for all CMBA coaches, upon submission of a receipt or invoice. In addition, coaches are encouraged to submit receipts outstanding after the CoMBA reimbursement to the Calgary Minor Basketball Association for potential reimbursement pursuant to their coach development allowance. Although coaches are encouraged to seek other clinics to broaden their skills, CoMBA will only assist with covering the cost of NCCP/CCCP clinics or CoMBA-sponsored clinics. Costs associated with all other clinics are the responsibility of the individual coach(es).

In order to qualify for this subsidy, coaches must inform the CMBA Administrator of their intent so as to confirm eligibility. CoMBA will request to the organization conducting the clinic if it is possible that CoMBA be billed directly for coaches who are approved to take the clinic. In situations where the coach must pay first, the coach will be reimbursed by CoMBA within 30 days of submitting the expense.
