CoMBA Eagles supports equal opportunity inside its organization. This includes but is not limited to:
The establishment of equal opportunity can be present even in a competitive environment. Each athlete can compete equally for the opportunities and end up in different roles.
Roles are not established on teams where coaching staff and players do not have enough time to communicate with each other because it leads to confusion and oftentimes suffering for the athlete. Community Basketball such as CoMBA’s Kodiaks program is an example where we do not allow Roles due to the lack of training and time for coaches.
With Club Basketball these roles will be guided and each player will have individual expectations. Although the expectation and roles are different for each player, which may include playing time, it does not take away from that players equal opportunity to play their role on the team to the best of their ability. Coaches will maintain an awareness and it is mandatory they take the time as a group to communicate roles to their players and parents.
